OK…so flat out, hands down, all that, THIS COLLECTION IS DOPE.
I saw this collection in a random magazine I picked up while catching a flight. Immediately I feel in love with the colors. LOL YES, the way to my heart is through vibrant COLORFUL stuff.
Anyway, Stephen Sprouse is credited with the marriage of graffiti and fashion with his collection in 1983. He actually died in 2004, but his collection (that started in 2001) continued to grow and hit Vuitton boutiques worldwide around January. This collection is a collaboration between Sprouse and Marc Jacobs (now how dope is he?).
Jacobs took two iconic Sprouse motifs — the graffiti and the rose — and interpreted them in Day-Glo shades of pink, green and orange over the Monogram print. The motifs are featured on Vuitton’s Keepall, Speedy and Neverfull bag styles, as well as basketball sneaker boots, pumps, sunglasses, headbands and wristbands, and small leather goods like wallets and coin purses.
Each piece can hit from $800 – $2000 (college budget = wishful thinking …yikes)
Enjoy.
