To send a letter is a good way to go somewhere without moving anything but your heart. – Phyllis Theroux

I think people have gotten out of touch with conventional methods of communication. When is the last time you’ve hand written a letter to someone? When was the last time you received a hand written note? Do you remember how it made you feel? I can recall the excitement of getting a letter in the mail from a friend that lived on the other side of town. Not only was it cool to get mail (a natural high), but it was awesome that someone cared enough to take the time out and pen their feelings.

The handwritten note is a lost art. With email, texts, instant messaging, Facebook, twitter, and cell phones, it’s a rare gift to receive a handwritten note. I’m appreciative of social media, but sometimes I do wonder how deeper the personal and physical connections between two people would be if it didn’t exist.
