Every now and again I come across some really cool people. It’s always nice to share these experiences with my viewers, especially when the people I talk to are young entrepreneurs, business professionals, musicians, athletes, or just plain fetch individuals.
A while back I had the opportunity to sit down with 20 year old CEO of Superstar Nail Lacquer, fellow Michigan State Spartan and entrepreneur, Ariana Pierce!
Here’s what she had to say….
How do you sell your ideas?
I love being creative. I always create collections and ads for Superstar Nail Lacquer that are fashionable, artistic, and makes every woman feel like a superstar. I’m really into fashion photography so I like to incorporate my pictures into my company to sell my overall idea of Rich Girl Beauty On A Real Girl’s Budget.
What was the last book you read, and what does it say about you?
I’ve been reading a lot of marketing books lately. I’m always looking for new ideas to grow my business. Also, I went back and reviewed my audio book, 30 Days To Making It. It keeps me on track with my goals and where I want to take my company. (It’s available on my site at www.arianapierce.com)
What sets your company apart from any other company?
Superstar Nail Lacquer is for the sophisticated girl on the go. My colors are fast drying and Eco-chic.
What is the difference between good and exceptional?
Good is just getting the job done. Exceptional is going beyond what is expected. It’s going the extra mile and doing the work others are too lazy to do.
What did you have for breakfast and what does it say about you?
I had fruit for breakfast. I am eating more healthy and working on my raw foods diet. It says that I’m a person who cares about my health.
Is organization important?
Organization is very important. Where there is no order, there is chaos. Organization causes you to think more clearly and creatively.
Tell me five ways to use a pencil besides writing?
1. A toy

3. As a weapon lol

5. To hold your hair in place
What motivates you?
-My family motivates me. Whenever I complete one project I can always count on them to push me to the next level. My parents take none of my excuses so if I come to them with any, I get the talk about how nothing can stop me. They say that I’m the person that can create or destroy barriers in my life.
How do you evaluate success?
-To me success is reaching your goals and continuing to reach for the next level. What success may be for one may not be measured the same for another. It’s relative to your life and the choices you make in life.
If you could meet any person, living or dead, for 10 minutes, who would it be and what would you say?
-I would love to meet Oprah. I would ask her to share with me success secrets. I would pick her brain and watch her habits. Those who are hungry for information usually receive the most from the teacher.
Have you ever thought about failing?
-Of course I have, but every time that thought comes into my head, I speak something positive about my future.
What is your favorite color?
-My favorite color is green .. Maybe because I am a Spartan 🙂
Where do you draw your nail polish color inspirations?-I draw inspiration for my colors from the runway for each season. I look at what’s hot and I create a whole concept to go with it. My last collection was called The City Collection. I drew my inspiration from New York fashion. There are colors like uptown girl, city girl, model behavior; all representing the fashion world of New York.
Describe your product to a blind person.
-Superstar Nail Lacquer is a polish line that is bold, beautiful, and makes you feel like a star.
What don’t you enjoy about being a business owner?-Sacrificing friend and family time. There are times when I have to travel or finish work and I cannot be with my loved ones. I’m so grateful that they understand that I am a young business woman and at the same time a college student, so I cannot make it to every event. I make sure to set aside time every month to spend with my loved ones.
