This is me being random.

For all you ladies and gentlemen with Jay-Z’s “Venus Vs. Mars” track from The Blue Print 3 on repeat, here is a little lesson.

Remember when he said “Fell for the Ponzi scheme, D*mn shorty just Madoff“? I will go ahead and assume a lot of ya’ll had no clue what he was talking about. Well it was lyrical genius. I love when rap makes you research stuff.

Basically he was talking about the Ponzi Scheme, which is a fraudulent investment operation that pays returns to separate investors from their own money or money paid by subsequent investors, rather than from any actual profit earned…

…and Bernard Madoff a.k.a the man behind the largest financial investor fraud in history committed by a single person. Prosecutors estimate losses at Madoff’s hand totalling $64.8 billion. And dude got 300 years in prison.
