Culture Shock or Fashion? Butch Diva “Pretty Woman” Dress
Culture Shock.
Is it not crazy that years ago a dress and heels like this were comparable to that of a prostitute – however – today its highly common and regarded as supreme fashion. Sexy? Trashy? Are we growing into an age where clothing isn’t necessary?
…and YES, you’ve seen this look before in Pretty Woman. You know, Julia Roberts gets saved and junk.

Summer Style: Get The Look – Alice + Olivia
I think I will try something new this summer. I will be packing away the Chuck Taylor’s, ripped jeans and the v-necks…and stepping into a more classic, girlie, chic sort of look. Like this:
I absolutely adore this white Alice + Olivia cardigan, matched with this Elegantly Waisted “Miley Belt” and Alice + Olivia butterfly shorts. Perfect.

Look what YOU started (shakes head)
Now come on. I will NOT sit and do an entire post on why we should NOT swagga jack, or more importantly swagga jack a monstrosity. We all know its WRONG.
I will, however, post these few pic I found of celebs “swagga jackin”.

smh….
BOmb Hair do’s
My girl Candace is notorious for her candid style! This is completely random….but check out this razor sharp “hair do” she is sportin….

SO…. if you see Cassie with this plastered on the side of her head (still haven’t forgiven her for that completely) KNOW she swagga jacked it from Candy Girl
Something New
Naturally I am drawn to out-of-the-ordinary type of things. I can’t say that I am willing to try most of the out-of-the-ordinary things I come across, but I do applaud people that are. For instance…Cassie
That’s my girl! Anyone who knows me knows I admire her style (not my favorite musician…but honey is very stylish). So she recently cut her hair…well half of it. Check it out:

And for ALL THE HATERS….I think its cute and different. Lets see how many people attempt to give this a try
Thank me later…
On the HUNT again…and these kicks are just FI-YAH!
I’m a personal FAN of Converse Chuck Taylor‘s, so CLEARLY I thought these little dooseys were none other than DOPE! I found them on this cool kicks site…
So apparently the king of deep lyrical swag, Lupe Fiasco, created some buzz when he sported these DOPE AZZ converse chuck taylors to a release party. They are not going to be released to the public, but I’m sure someone out there can get a pair!
…and I’m praying its ME!
Enjoy!

MOMMY I WANT THESE!!
OK…so flat out, hands down, all that, THIS COLLECTION IS DOPE.
I saw this collection in a random magazine I picked up while catching a flight. Immediately I feel in love with the colors. LOL YES, the way to my heart is through vibrant COLORFUL stuff.
Anyway, Stephen Sprouse is credited with the marriage of graffiti and fashion with his collection in 1983. He actually died in 2004, but his collection (that started in 2001) continued to grow and hit Vuitton boutiques worldwide around January. This collection is a collaboration between Sprouse and Marc Jacobs (now how dope is he?).
Jacobs took two iconic Sprouse motifs — the graffiti and the rose — and interpreted them in Day-Glo shades of pink, green and orange over the Monogram print. The motifs are featured on Vuitton’s Keepall, Speedy and Neverfull bag styles, as well as basketball sneaker boots, pumps, sunglasses, headbands and wristbands, and small leather goods like wallets and coin purses.
Each piece can hit from $800 – $2000 (college budget = wishful thinking …yikes)
Enjoy.

Story of meeting Fly Guy
OK…so I met this guy (kinda …not that simple LOL), but he was pretty cool and very stylish.
I mean SWAG outrageous.
His name is Aaron Reid and he happens to be the son of Grammy Award winning Record Executive, song writer and producer, L.A. Reid. Go figure.
I checked out his blog (The Aaron Reid Experience), pretty impressed, so I asked him to do a photo shoot for Fli Pelican. That went cool, so I asked for a little interview (YES. I WAS DOING THE MOST). I was interested in what he had to say as it pertains to fashion, influences and stuff. SO this is what he said:
“my influences in terms of fashion come from Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, Kanye, Jay, Karl Lagerfeld, My dad.. and a whole bunch of other people.”
Yeah I probably could have asked a few more questions, but I didn’t want to seem crazy.
How cool is he? Check him out.
