Inspiration for this post came from a conversation I had with my best friend. When you name drop historical fabulousity, Donyale Luna should definitely come up. She was the first African American super model and the first black cover girl!
“Long before Iman, Naomi, or Tyra ever set a stiletto on the catwalk, Donyale Luna was strutting her way across the globe. Born Peggy Anne Freeman, Luna grew up in Detroit, where her home life was far from idyllic (her father was murdered when she was 18). The following year, photographer David McCabe spotted the lithesome beauty on the street, and it wasn’t long before she was pursuing modeling in New York City. Avedon Remix with Dante Marshall
29 10 2009Photographer Dante Marshall is asked to shoot The Detroit Avedon Remix for Ambassador Magazine paying homage to one of the most influential photographers to ever work in editorial fashion photography.
The Detroit Institute of Arts currently has an exhibit of Avedon’s work showcasing over 160 images from the artists 50 year career.

28 10 2009While looking at the bizarre videos posted on worldstarhiphop.com I came across two random a** rap videos.
This one is a dude who is in the Guinness book of world records as the fastest rapper alive (move over twista, I think he got you). Personally I cant understand sh*t he is saying. He actually sounds like he is speaking a whole other language. He is cute though. Click here to see him in action.
