Blast from the Past!
Ok weak title…What you want me to do? I’m sorry!
Anyway, so I was eliminated from MSU Next Top Model 
In the words of Lupe “Didn’t really make me sad, I’m used to being a loser” …LOL just kidding 
…BUT I got to do a cool vintage inspired shoot before I got the boot I got to portray Dorothy Dandridge! So if you don’t know about her, you probably have NO CULTURE. Ok that was harsh…but seriously, if you don’t know about her, read up people!
She was one of the first African American actress/singers in America! So in many ways she paved the way for many actresses and singers today! She was a BEAUTY too Ms. Dandridge started her career when she was a child, doing shows with her older sister. She eventually made her own career by singing in night clubs and such. Mrs. Dandridge later began doing movies; most popular (to me) for her role in Carmen…check it out
So…all that to say this….I got to dress up like her! Here are some pics from the shoot By the way…I put together my own outfit, based off pictures I found of her on google.com
DIVA: Female Version of a…
So DOPE isn’t the word…probably not FRESH either. HYPE? Nah…
Lets try FI-YAH (that’s my new word for anything beyond fabulous, miraculous, phenomenal, all that). Get it? Cool.
Ok..so there are a lot of young artists out there doing there thing right now, but none like Ms. Lil Ma Smith. Born Lea Nicole Smith, in Torrance, California, she moved to Detroit in 1994, where her love for the business of entertainment began to manifest. At the age of 20, Ms. Smith (a fricken scholarship awarded, college student I may add) is a veteran to the game, performing locally and abroad.
I had a chance to chop it up with her a few weeks ago, and she gave me a little incite on her new album. She is releasing an album this summer called “Lemonade”. The name is a little strange but, it has a story behind it…
“Me and my mother were tossing different names back and forth and couldn’t decide on one. She finally said, “If you don’t come up with a name, in a minute I’mma call this album Lemonade”. I thought about it and decided that Lemonade was very fitting for the album because of the message and story behind the songs. This album is all about real accounts of relationships and different guys that I’ve dealt with who have all in a sense been, “lemons”, who could have otherwise left a bitter and sour taste in my mouth, but instead I took these situations and made “Lemonade”. So, that’s where the name comes from.” -Lea

Ms. Smith is basically revamping her entire image at the moment, relinquishing old stage names such as Lil Ma and Lil Mama. Currently she is trying to decide on a new single between her songs “Gentleman” or “Stick Up“. I personally eff with Gentleman, but check out both songs and drop a little comment to help her with that…PLEASE and THANK YOU

Just wanted to give quick recognition to my boy Bei Maejor for all the hard work, and amazing effort he ha
s put forth thus far in the music industry. I mentioned him in an earlier post, credited with producing Letoya Lucketts single “Not Anymore”.
Now I was doing my routine people search (it get’s boring here in the big EL…lol), and I found a cool article on Bei.

On the HUNT again…and these kicks are just FI-YAH!
I’m a personal FAN of Converse Chuck Taylor‘s, so CLEARLY I thought these little dooseys were none other than DOPE! I found them on this cool kicks site…
So apparently the king of deep lyrical swag, Lupe Fiasco, created some buzz when he sported these DOPE AZZ converse chuck taylors to a release party. They are not going to be released to the public, but I’m sure someone out there can get a pair!
…and I’m praying its ME!
